Buyer terminology

Liquid cylinder vaporizer, Dewar vaporizer, or heat exchanger?

These terms often describe the same application. A DVAP is a natural-draft external vaporizer: a finned-aluminum ambient air heat exchanger connected to a portable cryogenic liquid cylinder, also commonly called a Dewar. It increases available gaseous withdrawal when the cylinder's internal vaporizer cannot sustain the required flow.

FWM sizes each liquid cylinder ambient vaporizer to the gas service, required SCFH, pressure, run time, ambient conditions, and connection requirements. DVAP models are intended for intermittent nitrogen, oxygen, and argon withdrawal; higher-flow bulk-tank applications generally use the FWM AV Series industrial ambient air vaporizers.

DVAP units are sized for intermittent Dewar and single-cylinder withdrawal duty. For continuous high-flow service, the FWM AV Series ambient vaporizers are typically the better fit.

All DVAP units are cleaned, sealed, and tagged for oxygen service. Final oxygen-service cleaning and documentation are confirmed with FWM for the delivered configuration.

Flow ratings are sustained nitrogen / air ratings measured at 300 PSI with LN2 / air at 70F, listed by run time (4, 8, and 24 hour). Actual performance varies with ambient temperature, humidity, gas service, and duty cycle. Consult FWM for application-specific sizing before purchase.
